TAMA is the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier self-defense training center. Our training programs are based on the principles of Reality-Based Self-Defense: whatever you learn and practice in class must work under the conditions of a no-rules, anything goes, street self defense. We offer ranked and progressive training in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Maphilindo Silat, and Mixed Martial Arts. We emphasize physical fitness and conditioning as a requirement for progression.

We practice sparring, light to full contact, during classes. We offer a variety of real-world sparring scenarios such as Kickboxing, Trapping, Grappling, Clinching, Stick Fighting, Knife Fighting, Multiple Attackers, and Empty Hands vs. Weapons. Sijo Bruce Lee, founder of our system, taught that you must spar your techniques against a live opponent to know if you can apply it in the real world or not. TAMA teaches functional, practical street self-defense that is suitable for men, women, and children.

We are the official Bay Area representative and affiliate of world-renowned legend Guro Dan Inosanto and the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts. Our Founder and Chief Instructor, Adrian Tandez, is a Certified Instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto and Sifu Paul Vunak and has over twenty years of experience in the martial arts.
