Sifu Adrian Tandez - Head Instructor

Sifu Tandez is the founder, president, and chief instructor of TAMA. He is a Certified Instructor in Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts and Maphilindo (Malaysian, Filipino & Indonesian) Silat under Guro Dan Inosanto. He is a proud member of the elite Inosanto International Martial Arts Instructors Association (IIMAIA). He is also a Certified Full Instructor in JKD Concepts and Filipino Martial Arts under Sifu Paul Vunak. He also respectfully acknowledges his training with such legends as Sifu Ron Balicki, Sifu Francis Fong (Wing Chun), Ajarn Chai Sirusute (Thai Boxing), and Jean-Jacques Machado (Jiu Jitsu).
Sifu Tandez is a third generation JKD instructor under Bruce Lee. His direct lineage is:
Bruce Lee > Dan Inosanto > Adrian Tandez

Sifu Tandez is a Filipino-American who is proud of his Filipino heritage and culture and actively educates and teaches people daily about the genius, beauty, and power of the Filipino martial arts. He is also the world’s biggest Bruce Lee fan and loves to teach the philosophy and wisdom behind the Little Dragon’s fighting art. Sifu Tandez trained in Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo from a young age and earned his black belts in these arts at the age of eighteen. He also studied Jujitsu and Judo for a brief period. His life was changed when, while living in Los Angeles, he was attacked on the street by two armed assailants. They attacked him with knives but he managed to escape with minor injuries. After this incident, Sifu Tandez searched for a martial arts system that would work for the streets and can be relied upon to save his life in case this ever happened again. After years of searching, he discovered JKD and Filipino Martial Arts through Sifu Paul Vunak, then later on through Guro Dan Inosanto and absolutely loved the arts. He has been a devoted practitioner of the system for over sixteen years now.

Sifu Tandez holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelors Degree in Theatre from the University of Illinois. He is an experienced stage/film actor, dancer, singer, choreographer, and has appeared in numerous stage productions in the last twenty years. He is also a Stage Combat Choreographer.

Sifu Tandez dedicates and gives thanks for all his success, triumphs, and hard work, first and foremost, to Almighty God the Father and Lord Jesus Christ, without whom none of these would be possible. Secondly, he dedicates this and gives thanks to his beloved family – his wonderful wife and precious son. Finally, he dedicates and gives thanks to his wonderful teacher and mentor, Guro Dan Inosanto; to Sifu Paul Vunak, thanks for all his guidance and inspiration over the years; and to all his past instructors who have shared their special knowledge with him.
